Although I had been developing object-oriented writing since 2011, it wasn’t until three years later that I produced my first big OOW project, 16 Sculptures, which was premiered as an audio installation in the 2014 Whitney Biennial and was later the subject of a solo exhibition at the now-defunct Wilkinson Gallery in London. It is still available in book form from Publication Studio. Paid subscribers will have access to the serialized texts comprising the book over the course of the coming weeks, and in perpetuity thereafter, starting with today’s preface, in which I briefly describe the task and mission of object-oriented writing.
